4 New Transportation Apps for Entrepreneurs On The Go
In a fast paced work environment, today’s entrepreneurs have to be able to get from point A to point B quickly. Some entrepreneurs have mobile businesses and have to meet up with several clients in a day. Transportation costs include gas, insurance, and of course owning a vehicle. Public transportation isn’t always an option and cabs can get expensive if used on a daily basis. Below, we’ll outline some other transportation options for entrepreneurs.
1. Uber
If you haven’t heard about Uber, you’ve been living under a rock. This alternate to cabs has been around since 2009 and is simple to use. All you have to do is download the app and set up your pick up location. Request a ride and a driver close by will accept, the next step is to type in the address of your destination and once you’ve been picked up the driver is sent instructions and an estimated time of arrival for you. Uber is a more personal taxi service and if you have a small business with a handful of employees, you can all use Uber from one payment account!
2. Car2Go
Car2Go is a fleet of blue and white smart cars that are at your service whenever you need a quick mode of transportation. Car2Go offers membership cards for frequent users and the best part is, you drive the car yourself! Just take it, drive it to wherever you need to go, park it, and forget about it – it’s that simple. Keep in mind, however, that smart cars can only take two people at a time so if you’re planning to drive with more than one other person, you may need a better alternative.
3. Lyft
This is a newer transportation app that prides itself on the sense of community it provides – Lyft drivers aren’t strangers, they’re your neighbors! Lyft gives you three options – the original which is a car that comes to pick you up and drop you off at your desired destination (all payments made via the app), Lyft Line which is more of a ride share option where multiple people are picked up along the same route, and finally Lyft Plus which is the most personalized and VIP option for users, driving around in a decked out SUV for a more professional look.
4. Sidecar
This option is for people trying to save a few bucks when it comes to transportation. Sidecar allows its rivers to set their own prices (they sometimes even give out rides for free!) and you choose from the lowest price to suit your needs. The app will show you Sidecar drivers available in your area and their rates. You’ll know the cost of the entirity of your ride beforehand so there’s no surprise costs. All that’s left to do is pick one and get to where you need to be!
