7 tips on being a better entrepreneur
With “Entrepreneur” as your job title, you may get a lot of raised eyebrows and funny looks. In reality, this title isn’t a code word for “unemployed” anymore – it actually means something. Being an entrepreneur means you’ve got the guts to take an idea and make it into a legitimate business. Which is why we’re going to give you 7 tips on how to be the best entrepreneur you can be.
[success]1. Constructive Criticism[/success]
One essential quality an entrepreneur must have is thick skin and an optimistic outlook. Take any and all criticism as constructive, turn someone else’s negativity into your positivity, and thank them for their opinion (sarcasm may be required).
[success]2. Stay Smart[/success]
Ever heard the phrase “ you’ve got to spend money to make money”? Well, it’s true and one of the areas in which you must spend money in order to have a safety blanket for the future is with lawyers and accountants. The last thing you need is someone trying to sue you or poorly done taxes.
[success]3. Nonstop Networking[/success]
As an entrepreneur you need to network constantly. Be it via social media, business cards at dinner parties, or shaking hands at conferences you should always be accepting of new contacts that could be potential investors, clients, or even business partners down the road. Network, network, network.
[success]4. Mentor Motivation[/success]
Through networking you may even come across a business mentor. This is usually a person with years of experience that is willing to share their wisdom with you because they believe you have what it takes to be successful. If someone offers to mentor you, take it. it’s always nice to know someone is willing to guide you through the rough times your business (like every other business) is likely to experience.

[success]5.Brand Blogging[/success]
We can’t praise blogging enough and any smart modern day business person will tell you that blogging is a great way to simultaneously get people to your website, link to social media, and get in touch with customers all at once. Plus, it’s free, and free exposure is the best exposure.
[success]6. Competition Classification[/success]
Know who your competition is and be aware of their presence but don’t spend all your time trying to figure out their next move. Focus on yourself and only look at your competition to look at what they are failing to do so that you can excel in that area. There’s nothing better than beating someone at their own game.
[success]7. Email Etiquette[/success]
This may seem like common sense but you’d be surprised how much having an email signature makes a difference. The absence of one is unprofessional and having one that’s overly elaborate is just a waste of space. Keep is simple: Name, Title, Company, Contact Info. That’s it!
