10 Buzzwords That Need To Go

Buzzwords. Literally, words that create buzz, conversation, and general interest. Sometimes they’re good, but often they get quickly overused and annoying. Since marketing is a constantly changing field, we’re going to outline the top 10 buzzwords to avoid using:

research-it-girlThis word means making something a worldwide hit overnight. And it needs to stop being used because forcing something to go viral never turns out well.

phone-wiggleThis means engaging with users on a more personal level. It’s just a fancy way of saying talk to your customers.

executeAll marketing is contextual, so whoever created this buzzword automatically failed, we don’t recommend using it if you’re trying to impress someone.

socialBelieve it or not, this is actually frequently used term. It’s an acronym for social media (SO), local commerce (LO), and mobile apps (MO). There’s no point in using it because you’ll only end up having to explain it.

Content so good, you can’t help but click on it! At least, that’s what it’s supposed to mean, but again, this is one blogwriting-blog-writersbuzzword that’s been overused and abused for too long.

designAgain, we’re not really sure how this came to fruition, but it needs to stop being used. It’s another one of those words that unnecessarily fancy. Oh, and it means turning ideas into reality.

jobWe’ve all done it – looking at merchandise in a store and then finding it for cheaper online. However, this word needs to be put to rest, it reminds us too much of cheesy game shows.
